With Expressions coming up at the Stanley and Audrey Burton Theatre at Northern Ballet this week, we asked the dancers over at MeshDance to let us know how they were feeling about perform DITTO at the event!
“Expressions showcases the exciting new work of inclusive dance groups from Yorkshire and beyond. Celebrating the talents of disabled dancers, this is the only event of its kind in Leeds. MeshDance have performed at Expressions many times and it’s one of the highlights of our calendar! We sat down as a group to talk about this platform and why it means so much to us:
Lauren – I feel happy to perform at Expressions because I like the movements we have created a lot!
Freya – Since we last performed DITTO we have added a duet, I’m excited to share that. The changes we have made make the dance better, it adds some pizzazz!
Francis – I’m looking forward to Expressions because I love to perform. It’s my favourite thing about dancing. I’m not nervous about performing, it makes me feel confident.
Tess – It’s a lovely and precious feeling to perform for my family. It makes me proud of myself.
Emily – It is important to me to be creative and be part of a team. Expressions lets me do that and it lets me be myself.
Louise – It makes me happy! I’m also performing with Ability that night!”
You can see MeshDance perform at 7pm on the 13th August. More information about Expressions, including how to book tickets can be found here in our previous post about the event.
